Supporting the Port, the People, and the Future of Our Maritime Community

The Propeller Club of Mobile exists to promote the maritime industry and the Port of Mobile, but our mission extends well beyond ships, terminals, and trade lanes. As a club deeply rooted in this port community, we support organizations that preserve maritime heritage, care for the people who work on the water, protect vulnerable members of our community, and invest in the future leaders of our industry. The organizations we support reflect those shared values.

Mobile Maritime Leadership Scholarship Fund

The future of the Port of Mobile depends on developing knowledgeable, capable leaders. Through funding support for the Mobile Maritime Leadership Scholarship Fund, in conjunction with the Seaman’s Foundation of Mobile, the Propeller Club helps students pursue education and training tied directly to maritime and port-related careers. This investment supports workforce development and ensures continued leadership within our maritime community.

National Maritime Museum of the Gulf

The Port of Mobile has a story worth preserving and sharing. The National Maritime Museum of the Gulf plays an important role in documenting the maritime history of the Gulf region, with a strong focus on Mobile’s past, present, and future as a working port. By supporting the museum, the Propeller Club helps ensure that the economic, cultural, and global significance of our maritime community is understood by future generations.

Stella Maris – The Catholic Maritime Ministries

Seafarers spend long stretches away from home, often under demanding and isolating conditions. Catholic Maritime Ministries provides pastoral care, advocacy, and practical support to mariners calling on ports throughout the Gulf Coast. Regardless of nationality or faith, their work offers dignity, compassion, and human connection to the men and women who keep global trade moving.

Mobile Baptist Seafarers Ministry

Mobile Baptist Seafarers Ministry shares a similar mission of caring for seafarers while they are in port. Through ship visits, hospitality, and outreach, they address the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of mariners from around the world. The Propeller Club supports this work because a strong maritime industry is built on caring for the people behind the vessels.

Child Advocacy Center

Healthy ports depend on healthy communities. The Child Advocacy Center serves children who have experienced abuse or neglect by providing advocacy, coordinated care, and support during critical moments. The Propeller Club supports the CAC because protecting children strengthens families, communities, and the long-term well-being of our region.

Buckaroo Foundation

The Buckaroo Foundation provides critical support to children and families facing serious illness by helping cover everyday expenses that can quickly become overwhelming during medical crises. By easing financial strain related to travel, lodging, meals, and basic needs, the foundation allows families to focus on what matters most—care, healing, and time together. The Propeller Club of Mobile supports the Buckaroo Foundation because strong communities look after their own, especially during life’s most difficult moments.

A Shared Commitment

Each of these organizations reflects the Propeller Club of Mobile’s commitment to service, stewardship, community, and leadership. Whether preserving maritime history, caring for seafarers, protecting children, or investing in future industry leaders, these causes represent who we are; And why the Propeller Club remains committed to giving back to the port and people that make our maritime community thrive.
