BAE Systems and its predecessor operators of the Pinto Island shipyard have been mainstays on Mobile’s waterfront for over 100 years. The Mobile shipyard offers drydocking services and unmatched pier space for the largest ships trading in and around the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico region. Major customers include operators of commercial fleets and vessels that serve the U.S. defense cargo market. The shipyard is also part of a global defense, aerospace, and security company employing around 29,000 people in the U.S. that help equip and support the military.
