SUMMARY:February 2026 Luncheon
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our February luncheon February 26 at 12 noon in the Moonlight Ballroom at the Battle House Renaissance Mobile Hotel. \n\n\n\nOur guest speaker\, Lindsay Cline\, will be speaking on “The Future of the Fleet: The Nation’s Maritime Industrial Base Depends on Mobile\, Alabama.” \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLindsay Cline is a national workforce development leader focused on strengthening America’s maritime and advanced manufacturing talent pipeline\, particularly across the U.S. Gulf Coast. \n\n\n\nIn her professional role supporting the U.S. Navy’s Maritime Industrial Base\, Lindsay works directly with shipyards\, manufacturers\, industry\, education\, private equity\, and government partners to design and scale workforce strategies that address real production needs in shipbuilding and industrial manufacturing. \n\n\n\nHer work spans credential development\, education-to-industry pathways\, employer partnerships\, and large-scale regional collaboration – connecting education\, economic development\, and private equity to the evolving demands of the defense and maritime manufacturing sectors. \n\n\n\nPrior to joining the MIB\, Lindsay served as the president of education for Phillips Corporation\, where she worked with over 800 schools worldwide to integrate advanced technology within traditional manufacturing programs. She also worked closely with private funders to secure over $30 million of scholarships and infrastructure support for students and schools. Her work resulted in her home state of Alabama quickly becoming a leader in both CNC and additive training at the community college level. \n\n\n\nPrior to working within the manufacturing workforce space\, Lindsay worked in public relations\, which has been a key element to her work now. She is deeply passionate about ensuring that all residents and stakeholders within our maritime ecosystems are proud and passionate of the work happening inside our shipyards. \n\n\n\nA non-traditional student who completed high school at age 43\, Lindsay brings a deeply personal perspective to her work. Her career is driven by a belief that talent exists everywhere\, but opportunity and visibility do not. She is committed to changing how communities\, employers\, and policymakers view skilled trades – and to ensuring that the people who build our ships\, infrastructure\, and industrial systems are recognized as essential to national security and economic resilience.
